Ladies and gentlemen,
Scouts;

Greetings from Uganda Scouts Association and our Patron President Yoweri Museveni, where I am the Chief Scout. I am also Chairperson of the Africa Scout Foundation (ASF) board

Our role as Africa Scout Foundation is to raise funds for our region to support the Africa Regional Office, National Scout Organizations and individual scouts. ASF was set up in 1995. Our friends from diverse countries donated. As Africa is rising and the middle class is growing and poverty is reducing – we have to begin as Africa to support our own Scouting activities.

Membership is of three types.
1. Individual Membership: Individual Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond from 250$ upwards. So, were you a Scout before? Did you benefit? Are you a parent whose child is benefitting from Scouting? You can give back in 2 ways. One is to volunteer your time and skills like all the uniformed adults in this room.  Millions of Scouts globally are supported by volunteers. Money is required to support the few paid technocrats and facilitate the large numbers of volunteers. Bronze is 250$ but one can begin to contribute towards this figure slowly.
2. National Scout Associations (NSAs/NSOs) Membership
3. Corporate Membership
Both NSO’s and Corporates also have Bonze, Gold, Platinum and diamond levels of membership.

ASF is working on two projects

First Project: An office block for the Africa Regional Office
Kenya has hosted our regional office for many years. They need the office space now. They have kindly offered us 2 acres of beautiful land at their forest in Kibera at Rowallan Scout Camp. Please join me to thank Kenya with a big clap. Let us put up our offices.

The Second project: Nyeri International Scout Centre
Where is Lord Baden Powell and his wife buried? Nyeri in Kenya. We wish to put up the Nyeri BP International Scout Centre too.

In Africa, Scouts are contributing in raising a new generation that is immune to tribal tensions and religious bigotry, a generation that is aware of and devoted to democratic principles.

The Africa Scout Foundation plans to ensure a future for Scouting n Africa. We invite you to join us. Six members who have paid their contributions will be recognized today. These include the Polish and Korean NSOs who joined as platinum members. Other contributors will be recognized at the World Conference ASF event in Azerbaijan.
I thank you!
