Nyeri International Scout Centre

About 150 kilometres from Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya stands PAXTU, the last residence of the founder of Scouting, Lord Baden Powell. Towards the sunset of his fulfilled life, The Chief Scout of the World had chosen to retire at the foot of Mount Kenya, in the area of the Central Highlands region in Nyeri. It is also here that he and his wife, Lady Olave Powell, Chief Guide of the World, chose to be buried. At long last, the Government of Kenya has allocated a 2.02 hectare piece of land for the establishment of the Nyeri International Scout Centre.
